Well, I'm still getting the hang of this blog thing so when I wrote the last entry I sent it to draft instead of to y'all. So now you have two entries to read. Today we spent the day at Shimamoto High School. Just in case you are trying to find Shimamoto on the map, it is a small town half way between Osaka and Kyoto. The kids were treated like honored guests and treated to a Japanese writing class as well as a caligraphy class. They participated in an English and Music class and performed for a group of about 50 2nd year students. At the end Miranda asked if this is what being a FolKid felt like and we asked what she meant. She said that she felt like a rock star and everyone here loved her. She wants to be a FolKid for life! Sarah Zelley taught her first dance and Michaela lead her first snake dance. Both were successful. Everyone is still healthy.

Tomorrow we go to Hiroshima by train for an overnight on Miagima.

It sounds like you are really busy! Tell Sarah Z that we are proud of her. How much has she lost?

Thanks for the update!

Today we're at the aquarium in Boston and saw moon jellyfish which apparently are so prolific, they can cause clogging of powerplants that can result in blackouts in Japan and Australia. Katiya: I'm so proud of you for wanting to go on this trip and be willing to try new things at such a young age. Your sisters and Lee are getting tired of me telling them what time it is in Japan and what the schedule states that you're doing all of the time. Hopefully, you're taking many pictures and writing about this great experience in your journal. We all love you very much.

Happy Birthday Miranda! -from Katiya's Mom. I bet this is a birthday you will remember your whole life!
And hello to all the Folkids (including the Folkadults). Your trip sounds amazing so far. I wish I could be a ladybug on Katiya's shoulder and see all that is going on. Hey Katiya, the Red Sox and Yankees played three games last weekend and guess who lost all three? Put it this way, I am very happy about it and Lee is not! Rematch this weekend; hopefully the tables will not be turned!
Erica says to tell you hello. Mikela and Kelsey too, and Lee, Grammie and Grampie...we are all missing you, Taxi and Bunny also, but happy you are there. Love, love, love you!
