Inagi City
We arrived in Inagi City, a suburb of Tokyo yesterday after a shincansen ride of just over two hours from Kyoto and then two local JR trains with all our personal luggage and back packs. We looked and sounded like a wagon train. Here we are one person per host family and all seem to be happy. Some of the hosts were also hosts 14 years ago and showed us pictures of themselves and the FolKids they had then. They asked us how they were and, in one case told us about their continuing relatinship with their FolKid who is now an espiring actress in LA. We performed for 400 1st thru 6 graders at the oldest elementary school today with great success ( again the kids were rock stars). This afternoon we took a city tour (a chance for the kids to take an afternoon nap) and then had a welcome party with our hosts. All went well. Tomorrow is a free day and most of the kids are going to a local amusement park with the admission and all of their rides paid for by the host organization. Not too bad!

Everyone must just fall asleep during supper--I am so amazed at the amount of things you all are doing on this trip. The kids will need another week to rest when they return home. It sounds like everyone is having a great time, it's just too bad we've been unable to see the pictures. I hope the amusement park has big rollercoasters, I know Miranda likes them. Looking forward to seeing you all soon!
I agree, you'all must be exhausted! Katiya's sisters send her two messages: 1-Cut her hair in a shag and 2-Ride the rollercoasters!
You were right - they are being spoiled rotten! What are we supposed to do with them when they get back! Oh, right - not your problem.
On a more serious note, this sounds like the trip of a lifetime!
Hi All,
Laura here. My host family took many pictures and videos at our welcome party last night. For those of you that are hungry to see what your darlings look like check out http://yito.dip.jp/folkids/ or a few of my pictures at the same except /laura/ instead of /folkids/. I am off to the amusement park to ride the rides with the kids!! WEEEEEEEEE!!!! Laura
Laura - Thank you for the pictures! It looks like you had great weather. I was able to open the first group of videos but not yours. Oh well. We got a post card from Zelley saying that she loves Japan and does NOT want to come home so I gues you will NOT see me at the airport on Sunday. Did someone cut her hair?
Hi Marti,
April cut her hair
For all of you who want pix of the trip I will edit the blog when I get home and add more discription and pictures. Your kids won't remember much until they get aclimated.
Also we have a performance on Kids Day in Burlington between 11 A.M and noon on May 19th. for about 10 minutes. I hope all the kids can make it. Let me know tomorrow night.
Ben
